VI International Festival of Alternative Theatre “DRABYNA”

25 - 28 November 2010 (Lviv, Ukraine)  

  1. Youth theatre festival “Drabyna” is international festival of alternative theatres.
  2. Festival will take place in Lviv (Ukraine) on 25.11 – 28.11 2010
  3. Purpose of the festival: Assistance in development of alternative theatres, popularization of alternative theatre art, attracting attention to the new ways of artistic expression.
  4. Festival's motto: “Modern generation. Time. Space. Own vision”.
  5. During the festival different actions will be organized for participants and guests (workshops, round-tables, presentations, excursions etc.).
  6. Different projects will also take place within the limits of the festival: “Fotopjesa” (photo exhibition), videoplays showing “Videostage”, literary readings “Pozhezhna Drabyna” (fire ladder) etc.
  7. Festival committee will select  5 - 12 theatres for participation in the festival.
  8. Festival consists of two parts: competitive and non-competitive (festival art-directors choose festival's guests and special guests).
  9. Competitive part: Special jury will select winners in four categories: "The best play", "The best actor", "The best director", "Audience sympathies". There will also be staff's prize "Drabyna" for the best implementation of festival's idea and motto.

The rules:

 Alternative theatres and individuals can participate in contest.

The play has to represent the motto of festival (“Modern generation. Time. Space. Own vision”).

  1. There are no restrictions in texts, languages, genres.
  2. The number of participants is no more than 12.
  3. The duration of plays is not more than 1 hour 30 min.
  4. In order to participate in  Drabyna festival you need: to fill in the on-line application form at www.drabyna.lviv.ua, send CD, DVD-disk with a performance : the address- Oksana Dudko âóë. Lesi Ukrainky, 16/11, Lviv 79008 Ukraine
  5. Application deadline: September, 16.
  6. The results of the selection will be announced on the festival home-page (www.drabyna.lviv.ua) till the end of September.
  7.  Festival committee will evaluate according to such factors: accordance with festival motto, originality of idea, wholeness of play, level of direction, acting, musical and choreographic setting.
  8. Festival committee can restrict participation in festival of those theatres which do not keep to the rules.
